Samsung's Family Hub fridge combines an oversized 389-litre fridge with a the freezer, which is 225 litres. It's a big American-style fridge with high-quality temperature control and a dazzling array of smart features.
It's customizable using removable panels, so you can design one that is perfectly matched to your collection of tie-dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.
All Round Cooling
Separate cooling circuits in fridges equipped with All Round Cooing help keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, a single evaporator cools the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This can result in your food getting dry because the low-humidity air that is pumped into the refrigerator is pumped into. This can make food taste bland and unpleasant.
With All Round Cooling, each shelf has multiple vents which circulate cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even if you shut and open the refrigerator door.
Optimal Fresh zone helps keep seafood and meats fresher for two times longer than in conventional refrigerators without freezing. This feature is a game changer for anyone who loves cooking, but isn't keen on the hassle of thawing frozen meat or fish.
All Round Cooling employs an All Round Cooling cooling plate located at the back of the refrigerator in order to hold cold air and stop the loss of it when you open the door. It also reduces the need for power defrosting saving you time and money.
Samsung refrigerators have one of the most effective ice dispensers we've tested. Its patented Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes with just a twist, and it can be stored in the drawer below when not in use. This frees up more shelf space and makes it easy to locate your favourite drinks and snacks.
You can decide how your freezer and fridge open by using reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the kitchen layout and keep your fridge neat and tidy.

Samsung refrigerators come with drawers that flex at the bottom, providing an efficient storage solution. They allow you to store taller items, such as pizza trays, and cans of drinks. They can be turned back when not in use and folded flat to free up space. This is a fantastic option for those who love to cook and bake but are limited in their refrigerator storage space.

The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer features a unique three-zone system that allows you to add an additional refrigerator compartment or a freezer drawer to your setup. samsung refrigerators allows you to customize your fridge freezer to suit your needs and storage requirements. It's a stylish fridge with a bottom-right FlexZone compartment that converts from freezer to refrigerator. This gives you extra freezer space for items like ice cream bags of frozen veggies and meat or fish. It was a great performer in our tests, too, but the lack of a voice control feature and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen was an opportunity missed.
There's plenty of room to store food items in the rest of the fridge, including two crisper drawers and a FlexZone that can be customized as a middle drawer. The latter lets you pick between five different settings for the fridge freezer drawer, based on your needs. There are five different settings available: the freezer setting, a soft-freeze setting for wine trays or deli trays for example, a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store drinks, snacks and other items that are frequently used.
This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is perfect for families who want to have a fridge and a freezer in one. It's not as large as high-end French-door models, but offers many useful features. This is a great choice for those with little space in their homes.
Samsung Fridge Freezers are also very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge, so that it doesn't fluctuate too much and keeps your food fresher for longer. SmartThings
SmartThings isn't as popular a platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer a lot of smart devices that you can connect to. Samsung's phones, TVs, tablets and fridges all have SmartThings. samsung fridges could be enough to justify it for some, particularly if you have multiple Samsung products.
The SmartThings app is a bit refined and well-rounded It comes with a 'if you do x, then y' automated section that is surprisingly effective. You can set up things such as an alarm that goes off when water sensors detect flooding, or turn on the lights when your phone determines you are at home. It can control your fridge when connected to a smart socket but we've had mixed success with this.
SmartThings requires a hub, which isn't cheap. Samsung makes a few different ones - including the SmartThings Station, which you can attach to your router and uses as an nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings hub dongle that can support Z-Wave, Zigbee and Thread.
Once you've connected your smart refrigerator to your smartphone and hub, it's very simple to use. The SmartThings app lets you control your fridge from anywhere with notifications sent to your phone whenever it's open or closed. You can set up schedules, change the temperature and even set reminders.
SmartThings was one of the founding members of the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working towards making the most important home appliances from various manufacturers compatible. It could mean that you'll be able to control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television from the same app in the future.
While it's not as widely accepted as Alexa and Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some big names on its list, including Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, a protocol that allows accessories to pair regardless of their brand. For the majority of people however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best option.
Family Hub
A fridge freezer doesn't get much more modern than this: it comes with a 21-inch touchscreen inside the door, complete with a myriad of intelligent features. You can access entertainment apps, make notes for family members (think big digital version of a notebook that's stuck to the fridge), check the weather and more, all thanks Samsung's own voice activation assistant, Bixby.
The touchscreen allows you to manage recipes and food. You can add ingredients directly from an app and check out what's in your fridge using internal cameras. You can make grocery lists on the go and track foods to see the expiration date. You can even use a dedicated recipe app that will provide instructions as you cook.
Samsung has spent an entire year reworking the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. One of the major changes is that you can now create different profiles for every member of your household so they can tailor the apps and information they can access. It's not as great as the Alexa integration into your fridge, but it's an improvement over the model of last year.
Family Hub is not only an application for managing groceries and entertainment It also manages Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can connect to Matter-compatible devices like lights and plugs, and you can use the touchscreen to control them.
Samsung's fridge is a few years old, and while it still has plenty of features but its touchscreen features are not a feature that many people would consider to be an essential feature. They're more fun and a bit of frivolous extras than anything else.

This could change when there are more software updates, but at present, these models are best for those who want to have the most complete connected refrigerator that is possible. If you're not among them, you can choose a lower-cost model without the Family Hub to save some money. This could be worth it if you have a lot of smart home devices that require control by the same device, or if you enjoy the idea of having a fridge with a giant touchscreen.
